First Thursdays’ launches on Seymour Place

October 4th marked the start of ‘First Thursdays’ on Seymour Place, a six-month campaign, implemented to raise awareness of the street’s businesses and to drive footfall to the street.

The street’s restaurants, services and retailers hosted special offers, promotions and activities to drive the local worker population to the street for their lunch breaks and post-work leisure time. The PR demonstrated the wellbeing benefits of taking a full lunch break, supported by research, highlighting how many hours Londoners are wasting each year by not getting out of the office during lunch hour, and what they’re missing out on.

With support from Sir Cary Cooper Professor of Organisational Psychology and Health at the ALLIANCE Manchester Business School, the campaign aims to encourage workers to reclaim their lunch break and the promotions and activities on Seymour Place will continue on the First Thursday of each month until February 2019.

Coverdale Barclay has planned, managed and delivered ‘Seymour Place First Thursdays’ on behalf of the client The Portman Estate.
