Shining a light on Diwali at Devonshire Square

Devonshire Square’s (DSQ) annual Diwali Festival has featured in both Time Out and Evening Standard’s ‘Things to Do’ as it celebrated its fifth edition on Wednesday 8th November.

The event this year focused on the diversity of dances across India, from traditional folk dances to a Bollywood extravaganza finale, and we were delighted to see the Western Courtyard of the Square brightened up with vibrant rangoli art. Diwali canapés, sweets and a special rose milk drink created by modern pan-Indian restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen were served.

DSQ’s Diwali celebrations are a great example of how placemakers can activate and enliven public realm to celebrate, and engage with, different communities.
