Stockport MDC Welcomes New Managing Director

Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) has appointed Catherine Chilvers as its new Managing Director, marking an exciting new chapter in the regeneration of Stockport town centre.

Catherine joins from Network Space Developments (NSD), where she led commercial and employment-led property schemes across the North. She brings a wealth of experience in urban development and placemaking, having also worked with Homes England and the Northwest Regional Development Agency.

She steps into the role as Stockport MDC moves forward with its ambitious expansion plans. With Stockport Council’s recent announcement to triple the MDC’s area, including the 280-acre Town Centre East site, and double its housing target to 8,000 homes, Catherine will be at the forefront of shaping the town’s future.

She succeeds Paul Richards, who has led the MDC since its establishment in 2019 and will now serve as Strategic Advisor to the MDC Board, alongside his role as Deputy Chief Executive of Stockport Council.
