New Quebec Street & Seymour Place brought summer into full swing on Thursday 14th July with a tropical celebration at The Portman Summer Street Party. Organsied by Coverdale Barclay on behalf of client The Portman Estate, Marylebone locals and guests from all over London arrived to enjoy the delights on offer, with late night shopping, special offers, al fresco drinking and dining, live music and kids entertainment.
Foodies took advantage of the dishes and cuisines on offer at a range of Marylebone’s much-loved restaurants, from delicious pizza at SANDY’s to BBQ at Lurra and soon-to-open Boxcar, and fresh Italian dishes at modern Italian Bernardi’s.
Visitors also enjoyed special offers at New Quebec Street and Seymour Place’s range of beauty salons. Lemongrass Boutique Spa provided relaxing one-hour massages for £10, while iBrows Etc offered eyebrow shape treatments for just £5. Guests could also get into the theme with some tropical hairstyling at Beauty Rose Hair & Beauty Professionals and tropical nail art at PerfecTress Hair Salon. Shopaholics could enjoy late night shopping at the host of high-quality boutiques, browsing for a new designer outfit at pre-loved designer boutique BuyMyWardrobe, or pick up some unique homeware, at Eliska Design.
The Children’s Tea Party, hosted by GAIL’s Bakery and offering healthy snacks and sweet treats to kids, proved a firm favourite, as did the giant doodle wall, giving adults and children alike a chance to get in touch with their creative side. What’s more, children created a souvenir of the day at workshops hosted by Homemade London, making floral headbands, tropical fish masks and flower necklaces.
With a host of other entertainment on the streets, including Master of Bubbles Captain Calamity, children’s face-painting, and music from steel band Solid Steel and We be Jammin’ the party was kept in full swing well into the evening.
