Sugar House Island, East London’s newest riverside neighbourhood, will welcome its latest leisure concept this September. Iconic London gin brand Jim & Tonic, which opened a gin distillery, bar and restaurant concept on the Island in summer last year, is further expanding its footprint at Sugar House Island with its first ever Rum bar.
The Rum House is set to open next door to Jim & Tonic, creating a new social quarter for Stratford, and will feature a state-of-the-art rum distillery, new rooftop bar, private event space and flexible working space.
There will be a cocktail bar on the ground floor, which will offer a regular events and screenings, while the private space on the first floor will be available to hire for parties big and small, up to 150 people. The terrace will feature an open-plan rooftop bar, which can also be hired on request for anything from corporate team building sessions to weddings or art exhibitions.
In the words of founder James Mark, “Since its inception in 2016, Jim & Tonic has evolved from one man with a van bringing quality gins and their perfect serves to the masses, to a multi-faceted company, comprising Spirit Production, Event Services and Venue Management. With the move of our corporate headquarters to Sugar House Island, we sought to establish a single Brand House that epitomizes everything our brand is about. The Rum House will showcase everything Jim & Tonic stands for – sustainable, urban, innovative and fun.”
